Re: Planning Statement.
Application for certificate of LAWFUL USE of existing outbuildings at "Cronk Ny Shee", Cordeman Road, Malew. Isle of Man. IM9 3AJ.
Please find enclosed 3 copies of our application for a certificate of Lawful use, of the existing outbuildings, at the above property.
This submission is a result of advice received from Lucy Kinrade (Planning officer) regarding a current planning application (PA 20/00210/B) to replace the existing outbuildings with new.
The outbuildings have been continuously used as garage, machinery store, storage building and private joinery workshop since 2001.
We have enclosed 3 sets of the following information to assist in the processing of this application:
- Outbuilding Plan as existing - Drg 10.
- Block Plan - Drg 11.
- Location Plan - Drg 12.
- Support letters from applicant.
Property development resume from applicants building company "Brandywine Ltd" Support letter from (Graham Taylor neighbour) J.R Creer Ltd. Receipts from when Joinery machines were installed in the workshop area (2007)
The applicant's support letters give a brief history to "Cronk ny Shee" and a background to the use of the existing outbuildings on the site, since 6th April 2001.
"Cronk Ny Shee" forms part of the original "Upper Cordeman Farm" holding and the outbuildings were previously used for agricultural purposes prior to 2001.
The property development resume supplied, provides a breakdown and time lines of some of the substantial developments, that the applicant's building firm "Brandywine Ltd", have been involved in from its incorporation in 2004.

Prior to "Brandywine Ltd" incorporation in 2004, the applicants also carried out comprehensive building / extension work on the original "Upper Cordeman Farmhouse" together with conversion of the adjacent redundant stone barns into living accommodation, now known as "Cronk Ny Shee".
We confirm that our company (Kelly Lewthwaite) acted as planning consultants / designers throughout all the building projects detailed within the submission, from 2001 to present day.
As our role involved visits to "Cronk Ny Shee" over the specified periods, to discuss the applicants proposed building projects, we can verify that the outbuildings at the site have been used as specified by the applicant within the submission.
(Garaging, Machinery storage, building material storage and private joinery workshop)
It is relevant that the outbuildings have been an integral part in the successful operations of the applicants private building company, since its incorporation in 2004.
