3 June 2019 · Delegated
Ballavell Farm, Grenaby Road, Ballasalla, Isle Of Man, IM9 3dp
Permission was granted for the erection of an agricultural barn at Ballavell Farm, a medium-sized dairy farm near Ballasalla on the Isle of Man. The farm covers around 262 acres and already contains a mix of traditional stone barns and more modern farm buildings within a compact yard area. The officer assessed two main planning issues: whether the development was acceptable in principle as an agricultural building, and whether the barn would have an unacceptable visual impact on the surrounding area. The application was recommended for approval and was permitted on 3 June 2019 by delegated decision.
The application was permitted on 3 June 2019 under delegated authority. The officer considered the principle of the development and the visual impact of the proposed barn, and recommended approval. The decision aligns with that recommendation.
