20 November 2019 · Delegated
Cronkbourne House, The Level, Colby, Isle Of Man, IM9 4af
Permission was granted for the installation of a heat pump to replace an existing boiler at Cronkbourne, The Level, Colby, Isle of Man. The application was submitted by Manx Utilities Authority and decided on 20 November 2019. The property is a two-storey detached house set within a residential area surrounded by properties of varying designs and floor levels. The officer assessed three main planning issues: the visual effect on the street scene and the appearance of the property, the impact on neighbouring amenity, and the potential for noise disturbance from the heat pump. All three issues were found to be acceptable, and permission was granted with one condition attached.
The application was approved by a Principal Planner acting under delegated authority. The key planning considerations were the visual impact on the street scene and the property itself, the effect on neighbouring amenity, and noise from the heat pump unit. These were assessed as acceptable.
