To Whom It May Concern
I am writing this letter to explain the reasons behind this planning application.
I am 31 years old, married and have a two year old son. I own a small roofing business. It is a young company and I am hoping that one day it will be much larger than it is today. We are currently building connections with other companies that are bringing in additional work and further connections.
My wife and I would love to buy a house but we don't have any saving for the necessary deposit. That's where the idea to build a house came in. I have spoken to my financial advisor who has told me that if we have the land, we would be eligible for a stage payment self-build mortgage as the land itself would be our deposit.
I wouldn't have to buy the land as it was in my family, owned by my parents. My parents have given me and my wife the plot of land upon which I plan to build. My parents are of course aware that giving this piece of land to us will reduce their own land value, but as they have no plans to ever leave or sell our family home, that is not a problem. I plan to build a home that I and my family can live in for a very long time.
My experience within the building trade will allow me to project manage the build and to do the roof myself. I have friends in every discipline of the building industry, who have offered to help. This will keep my costs down to a minimum. In the current and foreseeable climate conditions, I cannot see any other way that I can afford to buy a home for my wife and child. Without this, I will have to remain as a tenant, which is not what either my wife or I want. We want something that we can build, live in, build a family in and pass on to our son.
We hope you to give this application your most positive consideration.
Yours faithfully,
