Addendum report ### PA 12/00527/B – Part demolition of existing building and erection of a dwelling on adjacent land. Sycamore House, Glen Duff, Lezayre.
The above planning application was discussed by the Planning Committee at their meeting on the 25th June 2012. At that meeting it was highlighted that subsequent to the publication of the Case Officer’s report the Development Control Manager (Jennifer Chance) had raised the use of quoins within the design of the proposed dwelling with the applicant with a view to their removal. The applicant advised that whilst they personally liked the use of quoins they were not opposed to their removal from the proposed dwelling if that would be a reason for refusal of the planning application. This matter was raised during the Planning Committee’s discussions, following which they voted in favour of the removal of the quoins from the design of the proposed dwelling, which can be done through the following condition:
Condition no. 8:
“Notwithstanding the detail shown on drawing no. 2RP/3 date stamped the 3rd April 2012 no approval is granted for the use of quoins on the front elevation of the dwelling. The areas shown as quoins shall be smooth rendered to match the remainder of the dwelling.”
The Planning Committee accepted the recommendation to approve the planning application subject to the above additional condition and the correction of typographic errors in condition no.s 4 and 5, which incorrectly stated “houses” rather than “house”.
