The application sought permission to demolish Nos. 22, 23, 25, 26, 27 and 28 North Quay, Douglas, convert No. 24, and redevelop the site to provide ten apartments and three bar/restaurant units. The Planning Committee refused the application on 28 September 2022. The first reason for refusal centred on the proposed demolition of the registered building at 27-28 North Quay. The application did not show that all reasonable efforts had been made to preserve the building, nor did it provide sufficient justification for its complete loss.
