- The proposal comprises the erection of a small domed observatory within the application site

- In terms of land use designation under the Isle of Man Planning Scheme (Development Plan) Provisional Order 1982 the application site is located within wider areas of land that are designated as a) open space; and b) of high landscape or coastal value and scenic significance.

Assessment
- The proposed small domed observatory is similar in size to a small shed and would be permitted development if it were constructed of different material. The impact of the building is considered to be very minor and the overall development concluded to be unobjectionable.
