24 May 2012 · Delegated
Ballafletcher Sports Pitches, Braddan Road, Strang, Douglas, Isle Of Man, IM4 4qj
Permission was granted for the erection of floodlighting at Vagabonds RUFC Playing Fields on Ballafletcher Road, Douglas. The site is used as a rugby pitch and sits to the southeast of Nobles Hospital and northwest of Ballafletcher Industrial Estate, forming part of a broader redevelopment of the area that also includes a new clubhouse, four playing fields, and a car park. The officer's report identified two main planning considerations: the visual impact of the floodlighting on the amenities of the surrounding area, and the potential effect on nearby residential properties. Both were assessed and the application was recommended for approval. The decision was made by a Senior Planning Officer under delegated authority and was permitted on 24 May 2012, subject to three conditions.
