Floristry Training Centre Statement
1700671 Floristry Training Centre 09 01600
The new building will provide a new centre for floristry skills, and packaging and an internet distribution channel.
Building on our experience after a visit to Disney World Centre in Florida where they manage many weddings, the floral requirements of many sites and create a visitor attraction, we aim to bring together under one roof all the needs of
- a floristry club,
- a floral learning centre for members of floral clubs and trainee florists,
- a central make-up centre for floral goods and a
- packaging and distribution centre for on-island deliveries.
- An internet sales centre.
In addition, to on-island distribution, the Centre will incorporate facilities for the internet sales of by the established and successful "Post a Rose". Ron and Mark Hotchkiss, with an established internet business including 90,000 customers, will be further developing the potential for internet sales. Ron has a proven track record with flowers and sales over his lifetime and Mark has already created a successful internet floristry business.
To accommodate health and safety, the building has a separate entrance facing Eden Park for members of floral clubs, visitors and people attending floral demonstrations and, as well as wholesale customers collecting goods. At the rear of the building will be goods in and a dispatch area for the centralized floral requirements of the Island's largest Florist.
Car parking facilities are also well lit and convenient.
A centralised flower makes up and demonstration area, canteen, toilets and recycling facilities will also be are also provided.
We would appreciate early consideration by the planning committee as the lease on the present "Post a Rose" facility is soon to finish and the current economic climate necessitates consolidation of the different businesses, which will be combined in the Centre.
