This application sought permission to alter the ground floor windows and door on the front elevation of 8 Arbory Street, Castletown, a three-storey terraced property on the northern side of the road. The front of the building faces directly onto the main high street and at ground floor level features a large shop window on the left and a single door on the right. During the course of the application, an amendment was made to relocate the front door back to the right-hand side of the front elevation. This change was made to better suit the internal layout of the townhouse. The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture approved the application on 15 December 2017 under delegated powers, subject to one condition.

It is necessary to assess the impact any development adjacent to conservation areas may have on such views.
