Permission was sought to erect a rear extension at first-floor level at 32 St Germans Place, Peel. The application was refused by the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture, acting under delegated authority. The sole reason for refusal was that the flat-roofed design of the proposed extension would not respect the form or design of the dwelling or the terrace of which it forms part. The decision was made on 24 November 2017.

The application was refused because the proposed flat-roofed first-floor extension was considered out of keeping with the form and design of the existing dwelling and the terrace it forms part of. The design was judged not to respect the character of the building or its surroundings.
