4 July 2017 · Committee
21, Lime Street, Port St. Mary, Isle Of Man, IM9 5ef
Permission was granted for the restoration and remodelling of 21 Lime Street, Port St. Mary, including the removal of an existing lean-to extension and its replacement with a new extension to the north-east elevation of the property. The property is a traditional three-bay Manx dwelling within a terrace of four similar buildings. The existing rear extension, which faces northeast over the bay, was noted in the officer's report as being dominated by a flat-roofed projecting garage, considered an unsatisfactory addition. The site falls within the proposed Port St. Mary Conservation Area, making design quality a significant consideration.
The application was permitted by committee on 4 July 2017. The officer recommended approval, and the key planning considerations were whether the alterations and new extension were appropriate in terms of visual impact and effect on neighbouring living conditions.
