Dear Sirs,

This a very ambitious project indeed and constitutes new building in the countryside. The application has aspects of a resurrection of the unsuccessful application some years ago where a gate lodge was included. The Commissioners objected then and, on the basis of that objection, are obliged to do so again.

The magnitude of the changes to be made will place a disproportionate burden of heavy construction-traffic upon the part of the small public road (Balnahow Rd.) giving access to the property from the Old Castletown Road and if approved, it is hoped that Dol Highways will maintain the road to a good standard in these difficult times when adequate highway maintenance is under pressure.
