The Workshop Claddagh Farm, Sulby Bridge, Sulby, Isle Of Man, IM7 2ez
This application sought permission to convert and extend existing barns and outbuildings at Claddagh Mill Farm, Sulby Bridge, Isle of Man, to create a watchmakers workshop. The site includes former stable buildings arranged in a horseshoe shape and a modern steel-framed barn, set along an access road lined with mature hedgerows. During the application process, the scheme was amended to remove a proposed first-floor mezzanine level and replace it with a single-storey extension off the west gable end of the main barn, due to budget constraints. The application was approved by Committee on 9 August 2016, with three conditions attached to the permission.
The application was approved by the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture. The proposal involved converting and extending existing farm buildings, with the scheme amended during the process to remove a first-floor mezzanine level and add a single-storey extension instead, due to budget constraints.
