3 March 2016 · Delegated
Tir Nan Og, Brookfield Avenue, Castletown, Isle Of Man, IM9 1tl
Permission was granted for external alterations to the side and rear elevations of Tir-Nan-Og, a semi-detached dormer bungalow on Brookfield Avenue, Castletown. The application was decided by delegated authority on 3 March 2016. The officer's assessment found that none of the proposed works could be seen from a public position, and that the net amount of glazing resulting from the changes would be very nearly in balance with the existing situation. The works were described as a physical tidying-up of the side and rear elevations. The privacy of the adjacent detached property, Wyncote, was considered as part of the assessment of neighbouring living conditions, and the proposal was found to be acceptable in terms of both design and impact on neighbours.
The application was approved on 3 March 2016. The proposed works were not visible from any public position, the overall amount of glazing would remain broadly unchanged, and the alterations were considered appropriate in terms of design and impact on neighbouring living conditions.
