Permission was granted for the erection of an industrial building at Unit J, White Hoe Industrial Estate, Old Castletown Road, Douglas, Isle of Man. The site lies within an existing industrial estate on the northern side of the A25, accessed via an estate road, and sits lower than the public highway. The estate already contains eight built units of varying dimensions, with a common theme in colour and design. The officer's main consideration was the impact of the proposed development on the character and appearance of the surrounding area. The Department will require that in all new development, parking provision must be in accordance with the Department's current standards.
