In accordance with the provisions of the Town and Country Planning (Development Procedure) (No 2) Order 2013, I herewith give notice of the appeal decision.
The Minister, the Hon P A Gawne MHK, has considered the report, concurs with the appointed person’s conclusions, and accepts the recommendation that the appeal should be allowed. Accordingly, he has directed that the Department’s refusal of the application under Article 6 of the Town and Country Planning (Development Procedure) (No 2) Order 2013 should be reversed, and that the application should be Approved subject to conditions. Formal notice of this decision is attached.

In pursuance of his powers under the above Act and Order, the Minister for Infrastructure, the Hon P A Gawne MHK, does hereby in the name of and on behalf of the Department APPROVE planning application 14/00766/GB by Mr & Mrs Tim Byrne for Demolition of existing boiler room and remodelling of existing pantry, construction of a new private dance studio and family room extension with balcony area and glazed link and remodelling of existing hard landscaping (in association with 14/00767/CON) at May Hill House, Summerland, Ramsey, IM8 2EF, subject to the following conditions:
- The development hereby approved shall be begun before the expiration of four years from the date of this decision notice.
Reason: To comply with Article 14 of the Town and Country (Development Procedure) (No 2) Order 2013, and to avoid the accumulation of unimplemented planning approvals.
- The dance studio hereby approved may be used only in association with the main dwelling house ‘May Hill’ and for purposes incidental to the use of the main dwelling house ‘May Hill’ as a single dwelling, for no commercial purposes and only in accordance with the internal layout on plan P-03.
Reason: For the avoidance of doubt. Note: This approval relates to drawing references numbers P-01, P-02, P-03 and P-04 received by the Department on 26 June 2014. Date of issue: 7 May 2015 By Order of the Minister
