Request For Emergency Variation Of Condition For Letting Duration At 'Pinfold Holiday Cottage And Cott Pundail'

Dear Sir / Madam

We write with regard to our Holiday / Tourist lets at Pinfold Cottage on Pinfold Hill in Laxey. Our operation has been running successfully and provides a very popular location for holiday makers visiting the Island. We have many return customers as we offer a high quality accommodation in a great setting.

Unfortunately due to the global Covid-19 pandemic, we have lost all bookings for the future and our income which covers the running of the business. Without the facility being operational, we will be forced to close and have two redundant buildings.

Consequently, we find ourselves in a position where we must look to change the planning clarification of the usage of Pinfold Holiday Cottage and Cott Pundail to cover longer term let's - beyond the 3 months we have planning permission for, in an attempt to generate an income and keep us afloat. Should the situation improve, the intention will hopefully be that we can return to a level of some normality welcoming new & returning guests as Holiday let's.

We trust this application is in order, can be swiftly dealt with and the department acknowledges the dreadful situation we are in. This could easily see us unable to carry on within the tourist industry and ultimately the collapse of our business. We do not know when all this will be over and have been advised that it will manifest itself in one way or another until a vaccine has been found.
