11 December 2025 · Delegated
Parkfield, Ballahick Lane, Ballasalla, Isle Of Man, IM9 2ad
The main planning permission (25/90412/B), approved on 19 November 2025, allows replacement of an existing dwelling and outbuildings with 20 new dwellings at Parkfield, Ballahick Lane, Ballasalla. That permission included Condition 9, which withheld approval of the tree protection plan submitted in July 2025 and required a revised tree protection plan and arboricultural method statement to be approved before any work could start on site. On 27 October 2025 the applicant's agent submitted a revised arboricultural method statement, a tree impact plan, and a new tree protection plan. DEFA Forestry was consulted and, after reviewing the documents, concluded they were satisfactory. The condition was discharged on 11 December 2025, meaning the approved protection measures can now be put in place and construction can lawfully commence.
DEFA Forestry reviewed the submitted arboricultural method statement, tree impact plan, and tree protection plan and found them acceptable. The documents demonstrated that existing trees on and around the site would be adequately protected during and after construction, satisfying the requirements of Condition 9.
