The creation of a hard surface parking area on the West side of my property marked X on the attached map (scale 1:500)
This will result in the removal of 2.8 metres of an 850mm high front brick wall to my property together with a reduction of the kerbside of the pavement to allow easy access. A hard standing area will be created within my property.
The creation of a hard standing area in this position will provide off road parking and safe access/exit to Droghadfayle road. Clear sight line North extends some 100 metres plus whilst the sightline West extends some 45 metres. These are greater sight lines than exist for my current hard standing area and garage
Reason for creating this hard standing area.
I currently own a car whereby the rear of which overhangs the pavement when the car is parked on the existing hard standing area. The existing garage is such that when I park my car in the garage I have to exit my car by the sun roof. One is illegal the other is difficult. I can park my car on the roadside by 42 Droghadfayle Road, which is legal but it constitutes a hazard given the speed some cars traverse the corner

The gap between the house wall and the fence measures 3.5 metres The portion of the boundary wall towards the road would be removed The aera between the wall and the green boxes would become the hard standing area

A portion of the kerb would require altering to ease vehicle access

Visual impact from the removal of the wall,
My boundary wall is only 850 mm in height so the impact on removing 2.8 m will be slight and will not detract from the area as each property has a driveway and my addition will be one of many in the estate.
An impact on highway safety from the passing of vehicles into and out of the site,
The safety of the Hard Standing Area with regard to vehicles entering or exiting the area will be no different to any other driveway in the estate and I would argue the proposal is in fact safer as it provides greater vision in both directions than my existing driveway. It will also be safer than having a vehicle parked on the highway outside my property given the speed some people travel in the area around the vicinity of the corners
The appearance of any parked vehicles on the new hard-surfaced area, A vehicle parked on the Hard Standing Area will be to the side of my house and will not detract from the view of my property not will it look out of character with the area.
The impact of the hard surfacing itself.
This should have a negative impact on the area as it is not out of character with any other driveway in the estate.
