Dear Mr. Quine,
96/1226: advert signs, Beehive Kindergarten, Cronkville, Hillberry Road, Onchan.
There has been a distressing tendency for some of these premises to display inordinately large and garish advertisement signs in generally quiet residential areas.
This we feel should be discouraged; their clients are not, presumably, noticeably more short-sighted that the rest of the population and signs which would stand out even in a commercial location such as Strand Street, are surely as unjustified as they are un-neighbourly, in among dwellings.
Note: the above has been written without benefit of having seen this particular application. This was one of several files which were unfortunately 'not available' during our recent visit to your office.
Yours sincerely, for and on behalf of the S.P.M.C.& E.
