Hi Lucy, The highway objection related to lack of information, including its construction. It appears that the access has suitable visibility for a possible intensification of use, but I am not clear about the location of the gate and the extent to which the hard-standing would be in proximity to the highway. Note that the normal construction of an access should include bound surfacing material, that is, not loose stone within 5.0m of the highway boundary. Whilst it appears that the principle is acceptable, I would need clarification of the access construction. Perhaps the agent could contact me. Hi Stephen The above application 19/00806/B proposes the erection of a new stable building along the Phildraw Road in Ballasalla. The application has received an objection from Highway Services stating that the access is not existing and thus visibility splays are required. A response has been provided by the agent to demonstrate the existing nature of the access which I can also see being in place in 2010 Google Streetview (albeit overgrown). Can you advise if the additional information now suffices the concerns from a highways perspective? Kind regards Lucy
