25 July 2018 · Delegated
Manxonia House, Bay View Road, Port St Mary, Isle Of Man, IM9 5da
Permission was granted for the installation of replacement windows at Manxonia House, Bay View Road, Port St Mary. The building is an attractive stone-faced structure on the corner of Bay View Road and The Promenade, with two-storey elements, roof accommodation, and single-storey annexes. The central planning consideration was whether the proposed windows would preserve or enhance the character and appearance of the property, given that the area has been identified as a potential Conservation Area. The building already contains a mix of window types and frame materials, mostly timber but including some uPVC. The application was determined under delegated authority by the case officer, Miss S E Corlett, and was approved with two conditions.
The application was approved on 25 July 2018. The key planning question was whether the replacement windows would preserve or enhance the character and appearance of the building, which sits in an area identified as a potential Conservation Area. The decision was made under delegated authority and permission was granted.
