We received planning approval for our original shed drawings in 2016. Conditions of an attached enforcement was to remove a soil bund, this was completed December 2016. We have excavated the site and after consultation with planning officer Abigail Morgan on some worries we had. We both felt it was best to submit a new application.
We do not want to alter the size or dimensions of the shed we want to swivel it and move it sideways a few feet.
Reason for resubmission of planning
Once the site was cleared we could see problems with the original drawings. The main issue was with tractor turning/ access into the shed and onto the field. We therefore had to do some levelling and landscaping. This has been completed and the spoil has been spread and buried beneath the excavated top soil and turf in an adjacent field. This field will be ploughed and reseeded in the spring.
Additionally as this was my first attempt at drawing plans I got my North, South, West and East muddled. The roof pitch should have been North facing on the plan so that the roof moulds into the landscape from the North Barrule line of sight. Also my error meant it would be very difficult to get large equipment and tractor in and out of the door which should also have been North facing.
By moving the shed a few feet as the plan shows we get a much better working use of the yard and access area.
Also we have lost one of the doors from original plan as we could see it would be redundant.
The updated plans will mean that the shed will be hardly visible from every view point, and this for me is a great improvement. It will sit contoured into the landscape. To further improve the site we also intend to plant native hedgerow this winter and seed the earth batters next spring.
Additional Notes since planning approval
Our livestock doubled in size since our last submission having 31 lambs this season. We have lost 8 to the weather already and are desperate for the indoor housing and medical bays as soon as possible.
