Plan Statement
Helen Hillier Jan 2023 Skerries, main Road, Kirk Michael IM6 1ED Replacement of porch windows with new UPVC/brick and render.
To replace existing glass and wooden framed porch to new UPVC replacement door and window panel and brick up using existing footprint and roof.
The current wooden frame to the porch is rotten and not weatherproof, allowing the wind and rain to enter the porch. 2 glass panels to front and side have dropped in the rotten frame and are at risk of falling out.
No change will be made to the existing concrete flooring and tiled and wood panelled roof.
The porch consists of 3 upright panels.
NE Panel 1 to the right of the property when looking from the road is full glass and this will be replaced by a single skin brick wall which will be rendered and painted to match the rest of the house.
SE Panel 2 facing from the road is a full glass panel which will be replaced by a 500mm wide, full height UPVC window with an Anthracite grey frame and the remaining 900mm bricked up, again single skin and rendered and painted.
SW Panel 3 to the left from the road is currently a wooden panel and an external glass door with a single mortice lock. This will be replaced by a solid UPVC 225mm x full height solid panel in Anthracite grey and a UPVC door plus frame in Anthracite grey. The style of the door is Cornwall as shown in Anthracite grey with a small diamond window to upper. Door furniture is black.
The decision was taken to brick up part of the porch to prevent sun damage to coats and footwear stored in the porch, whilst maintaining some light.
